Sissy was born on December 30th, 1939 in Lennon, MI to Herman and Celia (Ashford) Matznick. She was one of eighteen children, attended Morley Town Country School, Chesaning High School and Beauty School, maintaining her license for 30+ years. Sissy married Tom McClure in 1956 and together for 18 years, they raised their children and worked their farm in Chesaning, MI.

On top of farming, Sissy was a homemaker, worked at Roy Craft, Thompson's Boat Works, and played music two or three nights every week. Country music was a big part of Sissy’s life. Some notable moments of her singing career are that she was often headlined as “Michigan's own Loretta Lynn”, was co-lead singer with the band "Howard Roger’s and the Viators,” awarded at Frontier City as Michigan's #1 band in 1969, and the Viators were honored to open for Hank Williams Jr. at the Saginaw Civic Center in 1971.

Sissy's love of music, ability to sing, play guitar and write songs was a true gift from God. Sis also worked for Fisher No. 1 and AC Delco in Flint and as a hairstylist. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, putting considerable time and effort in planting beautiful flowers and gardening. She also enjoyed crocheting, making quilts, painting, and creating poems. She loved to laugh and joke around, always telling the best stories. She had a smile that would light up the room.

On September 20, 1985, Sissy married the love of her life, Michael Ferich, sharing love together for 37 years. Spending time with their children, grandchildren, and relatives meant the world to them. They were devoted to Oakley Community Church where they served the lord and cherished time spent with their church family. Mike preceded her in death on August 15th, 2019. Sissy’s legacy is carried on by all of the lives she has touched, whether for a brief moment, a prayer shared, a warm hug, a laugh, or the warmth of her smile.

Surviving are her children Jerry McClure of Brant, MI, David McClure of Northern MI, and Julie McClure of Dania Beach, FL; daughter in-law’s, Mary Ann (Jeremy) McClure, Tammy Baker, and Wendy Thiel; siblings Barbra Parcher, Rosie Humble, Esther (Walter) Durgin, Ilene Hesse, Leonard "Butch" (Janelle) Matznick, and John (Joanie Bobb) Matznick; grandchildren Geri Lynn (Dan) Stickel, Josh McClure, Matt McClure, Tommy McClure, John Herbers, Donny Herbers and Sasha (Chris) Cole; great-grandchildren Michael, Carmen, and Sam Stickel; and she shared a very special bond with her friend Sally Marr.
