Yusuf, Georgette A. (Nemer) - Age 89, of Swartz Creek, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, June 4, 2022. Visitation will be held 12-3 PM and 4-8 PM Wednesday, June 8 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, with a Trisagion at 7:00 PM. Funeral services will be held 12:00 pm Thursday, June 9, 2022 at St. George Orthodox Church, 5191 Lennon Road, Flint with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM. Fr. Michael Bassett and Fr. Joseph Abud officiating. Entombment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to The Lebanese Red Cross.
Georgette was born October 14, 1932 in Ain Arab, Lebanon, the daughter of Assaad and Latife (Baba) Nemer. At the age of 23, she moved to Toronto, Ontario, Canada where she worked at Roundtree's Chocolate Factory. She moved to Michigan in 1982. She worked at the Woodcroft Market in Flint for many years. Devoted to her family, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Georgette loved taking care of her family and had a special love for all of her grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, and her love for the casino; she was a people person who loved everyone she met. Georgette was very proud of her Lebanese heritage. She attended St. George Orthodox Church in Flint.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jana (Ali) Zouaiter; and Hana (Jeff) Stacy; grandchildren, Ameera Zouaiter, Zain Zouaiter, Jacob Stacy, and Dayna Stacy; great grandsons, Justin and Jace Stacy; brother, Khalil (Dalal) Nemer; several nieces and nephews, who were extremely special to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ali Yusuf; brothers, Eli, Nick, George, and Mike Nemer; sisters, Laurice Matta and Jamal Skaff.
