June Margaret Naswell, the loving wife of Keith Alban Naswell (deceased), mother of Patrick (Kerece) Naswell, and grandmother to Lennox passed away peacefully at the age of 76 under hospice care in Fenton, Michigan. She is now with God and the loving family members who preceded her including her husband, Keith, mother Milly Webster, father George "Sonny" Layne, brothers George, Jr., and Albert, and sister Joan. She lives in the loving memories of many family and friends including her son, Patrick, daughter-in-law, Kerece, and grandson Lennox. She is loved and missed by her sisters Sharon Gulston, Agatha and Cynthia Webster, and brother Anthony Hector as well as sister-in-law Bernadine Byer and extended members of the Naswell (Maxwell) family. Her life is also celebrated by lifelong friends Mary Quarrells, Henry and Molly Powell and family, Yvonne Mendez and family, and many others. June, a resident of Fairfield for more than 45 years, was born in Trinidad, West Indies on June 14, 1944, and emigrated to the United States in her early twenties to work as an in-home housekeeper and nanny and make a better life for herself. In America, she met Keith, the love of her life, on a blind date in New York City having been introduced by mutual friends from Trinidad who had also recently emigrated. June and Keith marked their 51st wedding anniversary on December 13, 2020. June worked for many years for Century Communications and the family of Leonard Tow. She loved her home of Fairfield, Connecticut - enjoying its beauty and celebrating the strength of its schools. She was a loving mother who, along with her husband Keith, supported her son through college and joined him on many adventures around the world. June had several hobbies including travel, sewing and knitting, aerobics and walking, as well as fishing. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in memory of June to the Alzheimers Association. There will be no in-person service for June due to COVID-19 concerns, but an online memorial via Zoom will be held on Saturday, May 1 at 11:00 a.m.
