Warren F. Werling, 90, of Toledo, passed away on December 15, 2010 at his residence after fighting a heroic battle with Parkinson’s. Visitation will be Friday from 3-8p.m at the Dowling Funeral Home, 7509 New West Road at King, (King Rd between Central and Sylvania) Toledo, 419-841-8111. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. He was born November 2, 1920 to Leo and Mary (Reier) Werling in Botkins, Ohio. Warren grew up in Toledo where he attended Woodward High School. Warren was a man of great faith. Warren was a devoted husband to Helen, a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a warm personality, a twinkle in his eyes and a great laugh. He was a Veteran of W.W.II serving in the U.S. Army with the Military Police Corp. He was employed with LOF as a crane operator. His hobbies include gardening, woodworking, fishing and dancing. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Norvel, Lowell and a sister, Ruthie Leson. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen (VanderHorst), their children, Peg (Bob) Szymanski, Marie (Mike) Marek, Joe (Diana), Lea Tessier, Carol (Jim) Wahl; brother, Karl; sister, Leaneda Thompson; 11 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. The family would like to give special thanks to the Staff of Northwest Ohio Hospice. |
