Arthur George Lloyd Jr., formerly of Elba Township Michigan, died Tuesday August 11, 2020 at his residence in Tolleson Arizona. He was 73 years old.
Arthur was born in Flint Michigan on May 14, 1947, to Arthur & Marguerite (Schmidt) Lloyd. He resided in Elba Township, before moving to Arizona. Answering the call of his country, Arthur proudly served in the US Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. When he returned home, Arthur worked for 32 years at the Chevy V-8 engine plant in Flint.
Arthur enjoyed his family and church. He was always up for a project and more than willing to help a friend in need. He was lovingly known for his infectious laugh and smile.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Karla (Homan), son Brian Lloyd (Kim), and daughters Amy Hutter (Geoff), and Angela Meade (Jeff), six grandchildren (Kathryn, Keegan, Madison, Kyle, Caleb, and Owen), his sisters Linda Phillips and Michele Martin, and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Marguerite, and his brother John.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the Davison Missionary Church, 1481 N. Gale Rd. Davison. The service will be officiated by Reverend Nelson Swinehart, Arthur’s former pastor of 24 years at Faith Bible Baptist. Burial will be at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Family will receive visitors from 12:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday, August 18, at the Hansen funeral home in Davison CDC Guidelines for social distancing and limited amounts of visitors at one time will be followed. The family would like you to join them but understand you may or may not at this time and respect your decision. Mr. Lloyd will lie in state at the church from 10:00 am Wednesday until time of services.
