SPRAGUE, Kate Ilene (Daniels) – of Davison, MI, age 85, passed away Friday, October 16, 2026. A Funeral Service will be held 4 PM Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Atlas Road Church of God, 3328 Atlas Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Bill Owen officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 2-4 PM Thursday, October 22, 2026 at Atlas Road Church of God. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Kate’s memory.
Kate was born in Flint, MI on June 28, 1941, daughter of the late William and Lina (Decatur) Daniels. She was a proud graduate of Central High School, Class of 1958. On September 18, 2001, she married James Sprague in a private ceremony, beginning a special chapter in her life together.
Above all else, Kate was a woman of unwavering faith. Her love for the Lord was the foundation of her life, guiding her words, her actions, and the way she cared for others. She found comfort and strength in reading her Bible, joy in singing praises, and fulfillment in serving as the pianist at her church. Her faith was not simply something she believed in; it was something she lived each day, reflected in her kindness, generosity, and genuine love for those around her.
Kate was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who gave of herself wholeheartedly. She had a special gift for making people feel welcome and loved, never meeting a stranger and always finding a way to brighten someone's day. With her lovable personality, warm heart, wonderful sense of humor, and contagious laughter, Kate brought joy wherever she went. She was caring, giving, upbeat, and full of life, with a spirit that lifted others and a smile that made people feel at ease. Her laughter was a gift, her kindness a reflection of her faith, and her love for her family a blessing that will remain in their hearts forever.
Kate leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, laughter, and compassion. Though she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her, the example she set and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her life was a beautiful testament to the power of faith and the lasting difference one loving heart can make.
Kate is survived by her husband, James Sprague; 3 children, Mark Nichols, Lisa Nichols and Scott Nichols; 4 step-children, Joy (Tim) Ross, Jim (Pam) Sprague, Jessie (Terrie) Sprague and Pam (Steve) Kennedy; 13 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lina Daniels and 3 siblings.
