NEWMAN, Kevin Dion - Of Flint, age 61, died Saturday, August 12, 2023
at McLaren-Flint.
A memorial service will be held 11am Monday, August 21, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Dr. Alfreda Riley officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 10am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Kevin was born in Flint, Michigan on February 7, 1962, the son of Willie and Marjorie (Johnson) Newman. On November 6, 1987, he married Dawn “Dazawn” Ferguson. Kevin was an incredibly friendly person & a jack of all trades. From truck driving, to helping people move, and constantly repairing things, he kept himself motivated and busy. His sense of humor was out of this world. He was a sportsman and enjoyed playing in the Gus Macker. He always had a joke or some creative made up language that made everyone laugh. Above all he loved his family, delicious food, and unconventional snacks. He is a hero to his wife, children, and grandchildren who will carry on his legacy forever.
Surviving are wife, Dawn “Dazawn”;
children, Kevin Newman II, Tyria Newman and Derrick (Carrie) Newman;
grandchildren, Jaylen, Jacore, Karri, Kirra, Judah and Kevin III;
siblings, Martin Newman, Steven (Linda) Newman, Carolynn Truss, Cheryl and Brenda.
He was preceded in death by his son, Dante, father, Willie Newman and his grandparents.
