Jack Oliver Pohlman, age 88, of Willoughby Hills and formerly of Toledo, Ohio died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Altercare of Mayfield Village. He was born in Toledo on February 8, 1922 to Frank and Ruth (Missner) Pohlman and on February 28, 1947 he married Florence King. A U.S. Amy Veteran of WWII, Jack was employed by British Petroleum as a Truck Driver for over 30 years. He was a member of Faith Community Church of Christ, an avid Ohio State fan and in his spare time he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Florence Pohlman; children, Alan “Pete” Pohlman, Susan ‘Sue” Pohlman and Mark (Michelle Cousino) Pohlman; 3 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Chuck (Pat) Pohlman and Bill Pohlman as well as his sister, Lois Yunker.
Family and friends will be received on Saturday, December 18, 2010 from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at 10:30 A.M. at Neville Funeral Home, Southwest Chapel, 7438 Airport Highway in Holland (419-865-8879). Burial will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Those planning an expression of sympathy may do so in Jack’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
