Smallwood, Dennis Thomas of Flushing, age 86, died Sunday, December 22, 2024, passed away peacefully in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be 3-7 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home.
Dennis was born at home in Flint, Michigan on June 10, 1938, the son of Isaac and Rose (Coutes) Smallwood. He married Sharon Bloss on May 29, 1976, at the Court Street United Methodist Church in Flint. Dennis worked for 43 years for General Motors at Chevy in the Hole. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making a joke out of everything. Dennie had a passion for hunting that he shared and passed down to his son and grandsons. He also loved watching his son compete. His grandkids were his pride and joy and he was their biggest fan, no matter the activity or location, PaPa Dennie was there and very proud.
Dennis is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sharon; children, Pamela LaPeen, Cammie (Scott) Preston, Tom (Jennifer) Smallwood; grandchildren, Robin (Dana) LaPeen, Stephanie (Aaron) Amey, Nicholas (Paige) LaPeen, Makkenzie (Andrew) Bouvy, Maddison (Adam) Grim, Tanner (Abby) Preston, Hannah Smallwood, Brady Smallwood; great-grandchildren, Logan, Brooke, Hope, Kati, Isaac, Shiloh, Maeve, Walker, Bennett, a great-grandchild on the way; and sister, Rosemary Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant twins, Daniel and Dennis and son, Michael Smallwood.
