CALLAHAN, Duane B. of Flushing, age 81, died Sunday, January 12, 2020 at Regency of Grand Blanc. Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 17, 2020 at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Anthony Brooks will officiate. Burial to follow at St. Robert Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Thursday, January 16 at Rossell Funeral Home with a 7 p.m. Rosary service, and 10 a.m. Friday at the church until the time of the Mass. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
Duane was born in Flint, Michigan on July 11, 1938 to Bernard and Gertrude (Mochty) Callahan. He married Joan Miller on April 23, 1973. He resided in Flushing for the majority of his life. Duane was employed with GM at the Flint Metal Fabrication plant for 36 years until his retirement in 1992. He was a devoted church member at St. Robert Catholic Church. Duane enjoyed hunting, golf, playing poker and was a Detroit Red Wings, Tigers, and Lions fan . His passion was spending time with his children and grandchildren celebrating birthdays and holidays with them as well as maintaining his truck and lawn.
Duane is survived by his son, Michael (Lori) Callahan; daughters, Pam (Juan) Partridge and Dawn (Jimmy) Belton; grandchildren, Alison Callahan and Nicklas Callahan; sister, Mary Jane Grove; niece and nephew, Jim Grove and Michelle Illg; and long-time friend, Bob Iserhoth. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan; brother, Bob Callahan; cousin, Thomas Kalfs; long-time friend, Joe Carroll and his parents. |
