Rita Elanor Barnhart
Age 86 of Corunna passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at Durand Senior Care and Rehabilitation.
A memorial service will be held 1pm Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor George Zornow officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 11am until the time of service.
Rita was born February 28, 1931 in Montreal, Canada the daughter of John and Lydia (Fisher) Hamilton.
She graduated from Montreal High School and attended Junior College.
Rita was an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. She enjoyed tending to her gardens, needlework, reading and summer sports. Rita especially loved her family and her cat Mia.
She married Jack Barnhart in Montreal on September 24, 1955.
Rita was a homemaker and spent her life raising and caring for her family.
Rita is survived by her husband Jack; sons Sterling (Lori) Barnhart of Lennon and Lyle Barnhart of Davisburg; grandson Sean Barnhart; many other loving family an friends.
She was predeceased by her parents.
