COKLEY, William – of Burton, age 67, passed away Monday, November 1, 2021 at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Friday, November 5, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski celebrant. Entombment will immediately follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery, with military honors. Visitation will be 4-7 PM Thursday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM. On Friday, there will be one hour visitation prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to James & Desoline Cokley Family Fund through the Community Foundation of Greater Flint, where grants are used for the homeless and needy or St. John Catholic Church Building Fund.
William was born in Flint, MI on October 16, 1954, son of James and Desoline (Fabris) Cokley. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy. William married Marites Fabro on May 18, 1984. He loved to collect art and travel around the world. William earned his pilot license, taking him and his wife to all of their favorite places. He was the instigator of everything. William was a member of St. John Catholic Church. He was involved with the family business, Genesee Ceramic Tile and Crystal Fieldhouse. William loved spending time with family and going to the Davison Farmers Market.
William is survived by his wife, Marites; children, William John (Danielle) Cokley, Jr.; grandchildren, William John Cokley III, Kendayl Taylor Cokley, Ethan Charles Cokley, Henry Thomas Cokley, Quentin Oliver Cokley and Theo Hudson Cokley; sisters, Linda (Randy) Leach and Lisa Haas; brothers, John (Michaelle) Cokley and James (Ellen) Cokley; nieces and nephews, Matthew (Deepti) Leach, Marianne (Josh) Graham, Mark Leach, John and Kayden Cokley; Rourke Haas and Heidi Haas; great-niece and nephews, Vir Leach, Siya Leach, Elle Graham and Arlo Graham. Best Friend, Fr. Andrew Czajkowski. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Violet Fabris, sister Laura Angel Cokley and brother-in-law, Kevin Thomas Haas.
