SARGENT, Esther M. - Of Davison, age 87, died Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
A private funeral service will be held at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park
Visitation 5-7pm Wednesday, January 6, 2021 at the funeral home.
Due to Covid-19 and government regulations, only 25 people will be allowed in the chapel at one time. Mask, group capacity and distancing guidelines must be practiced.
Esther was born in Flint, Michigan on September 29, 1933, the daughter of the late Frederick and Beulah Ormsbee. Esther worked at AC Spark Plug for 10 years, The Torch Lounge or 8 years, then retired from the Croatian Slovene Club for 12 years. In her early years she was on many bowling leagues, golf leagues and dart leagues. She enjoyed playing darts in the Canusa Games. Esther loved being with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grand-children.
Surviving are her daughter, Kimberlie Ormsbee (VanHorn) and partner Jack Smith;
Sisters, Bonnie Gist (Charles) and Roxanne Gillett (Mike);
6 grandchildren, Nathan VanHorn (Bonnie), Kari Bovee (Marvin), Tony VanHorn (Brandy), Kasie VanHorn, Russell VanHorn (Marie) and Patrick VanHorn (Amanda);
6 great-grandchildren, Michael, Luke, Abbie, Hunter, Isabelle and Spencer;
5 step-great-grandchildren, Brendan, Zachary, E.J., Mason and Isaiah;
And several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Sargent, mother, Beulah Black, father, Frederick Ormsbee and 2 brothers, Fred and Charles Ormsbee.
