It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of Kaunda Thomas Burress Jr., age 22, of Flint, Michigan, who departed this life on July 3, 2026.
Kaunda was born on June 26, 2004, in Flint, Michigan. He was a beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend whose presence brought laughter, love, and unforgettable memories to the lives of those around him.
Kaunda enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and could often be found doing what he loved most—gaming, laughing, relaxing, and enjoying life with the people closest to him. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews and took great pride in being the best uncle he could possibly be. His love for them was genuine, and the memories they shared with him will be treasured forever.
Kaunda had a personality all his own. He knew how to make people laugh, enjoy the moment, and feel comfortable being themselves. Whether spending time with family, hanging out with friends, or simply enjoying a day doing the things he loved, Kaunda created memories that will stay with those who knew him for the rest of their lives.
Kaunda leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Melissa Jarvis; brothers, Kyler Jarvis and Heath Jarvis; sister, Jasmine Jarvis; and his beloved nieces and nephews, along with extended family members and countless friends who loved him dearly.
Although Kaunda's life was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever. His family will forever remember his smile, his laughter, his love for gaming, his friendship, and most of all, the special bond he shared with his nieces and nephews.
There are no words that can truly express how deeply Kaunda will be missed. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled, but his memory will remain a part of us forever.
