Fidelis M. "Faye" Vincke, a long time resident of Maple Grove, died on November 18, 2021 at the age of 95.
Born in Saginaw on August 26, 1926 the daughter of Michael and Irene (Skelcey) Kusowski, Faye grew up in Holy Rosary Parish and was a 1944 graduate of Saginaw High School. On August 26, 1950 she married Henry Vincke and together they were blessed with ten children.
Faye's faith and her family were most important to her. She was a devout and faithful Catholic and a servant to others throughout her life. She served as a Sacristan and taught religious education at St. Michael Catholic Church for many years, was a member of the Legion of Mary, involved in the SPRED program, and sponsored many children through the Unbound Program. At home she enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and cooking for her large family of children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by them all.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty years, Henry F. Vincke, in 2000, and is survived by daughters, Judy (Dave) Pintar, Patty (Rick) Warner, and Sharon (Paul) Messiter; sons, John (Sheryl) Vincke, Tom (Laurie) Vincke, Jim (Debb) Vincke, Joe (Connie) Vincke, Dan Vincke, Ken (Kim) Vincke, and The Most Reverend Jerry Vincke; grandchildren, Kristine (Matt) Allen, Kelly (Greg) Powell, Wendy (Sek-yeong) Lau, Trina (Chris) Church, Eric (Elysha) Vincke, Jordan (Heather) Vincke, Hilary (Rich) Grundas, Andrew Vincke, Cassandra Vincke, Sarah (Chris) VanZyll, Matthew (Tiffany) Vincke, Michael (Chelsea) Vincke, Carley (Nick) Helzer, Shelby Vincke, Chelsea (Jeff) Pappas, Kaitlyn (Ross) Potgiesser, Connor Vincke, Jessica (Zach) Hiner, Troy (Molly) Warner, Charles Warner, P.J. Messiter, Nathan (Annie) Messiter, Rebecca Messiter and 29.5 great grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy (the late Stanley) Graham and Monica (Ken) Kubiak; brother, Francis "Joe" (Carolyn) Kusowski; in-laws, Margaret Emmendorfer and Ilda Vincke, and many nieces, nephews, dear friends and staff at Union Court in Chesaning, and many friends and fellow congregants at St. Michael Parish in Maple Grove. She was preceded in death by siblings, Eugene (Ella) Kusowski, John William Kusowski, Michael Kusowski Jr., and Mary Kusowski.
The Vincke family would like to thank the staff at Union Court for their wonderful care.
Visitation will be held at McGeehan Funeral Homes, Martin Chapel, 316 W. Broad St., Chesaning, on Sunday, November 21, from 1-8PM with a Vigil Service at 7PM.
Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Avenue, Saginaw, on Monday, November 22, at 11AM, with visitation beginning at 10AM. Committal will take place at St. Michael Cemetery on Monday at 3PM. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Michael Parish, Maple Grove.
