HODGE, Kenneth C. “Padre” – Of Flint, age 90, died Sunday, May 18, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the American Heart Association.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Kenneth was born in Salmon, Idaho on October 1, 1923, the son of John J. and Ida (Wagster) Hodge and was a resident of Flint.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.
Kenneth married Louise Hall on August 20, 1941 in Flint.
He was a member of Fair Weather Riders Motorcycle Club.
He enjoyed square dancing, traveling, camping and enjoyed family gatherings and cookouts.
Mr. Hodge worked as a crane operator at GM-Chevrolet for 37 years.
Surviving are wife, Louise;
daughters, Francene Cooper, Deborah (Thomas Huneycutt) Craven,
Linda (Medford) Cady;
son, Patrick (Peggy) Hodge;
daughters, Suzanne Carr and Alice (John Gough) Foster;
son, John (Beverly) Hodge;
daughter, Janise (Dan) Jurgens; daughter-in-law, Rena Hodge;
daughter, Karrie (Ken) Platt;
son, Michael (Kitrinka) Hodge.
He is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by parents; two children, Kenneth Daniel Hodge and Karl Lee Hodge; two grandsons, Kenneth Huneycutt and Tony McKinzie; one great-grandson, Nicholas Arntz; two brothers and four sisters.
