GOYETTE, Joseph “Don” – of Davison, age 96, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. The family will welcome visitors from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM on Tuesday at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, in Don’s memory.

Don was born in Flint, Michigan, on March 30, 1928, to the late Joseph Leo and Marie Ann Regina (Seguin) Goyette. On October 19, 1996, he married Marilyn Hamilton in Davison, Michigan. He dedicated 40 years of his career as a sales representative for Pfizer before retiring. Even in his 80s, he remained active, working as a tour guide for For-Mar Nature Preserve and the DNR Fishery in Oden. An avid outdoorsman, Don found joy in birdwatching, hunting, and racing sailboats. He was also a passionate supporter of his grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to watch them play sports. A talented coach, Don led numerous championship softball teams. As the founder of Hotona in 1980, a cherished gathering place for family and friends that continues to bring loved ones together to this day, Don enjoyed entertaining and had a gift for bringing people together.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn; children: Gary (Barb), Joe (Martha), Laurie, Leesa (David), David (Lisa), Robin (Brenda), and Forrest (Kathryn); step-children: Bret, Andy, Kasey (Andy), Kelly (Rick), Kristie, Spencer (Teresa), Kabrina (Tedd), and Kourtney; 39 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Natalie; and many other loving family members and friends. Don was preceded in death by late wife, Betty Goyette, who he married on July 3, 1953, and together raised their children in Davison, Michigan for 39 years. He was also preceded in death by children: Dan and Sharlene, and grandsons: Justin and Adam.
