HEID, Raymond Floyd – of Flint, MI, age 78, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 1 PM Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Roy Horning officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM Wednesday, April 30, 2025 and 12-1 PM Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, in Ray’s memory.
Ray was born in Flint, MI on August 18, 1946, son of the late Floyd and Madonna (Scharff) Heid. He was a graduate of Kearsley High School Class of 1965. Ray married the love of his life, Barbara Smith, on August 11, 1977, in Flint, MI. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, adventure, and memories that will forever be cherished by those who knew them. A man of many passions, Ray was known for his adventurous spirit. He was an enthusiastic member of the Flintstones Racing Club, where he spent countless hours racing his Ford Bronco, a hobby that brought him joy and a sense of camaraderie with his fellow racers. Ray also enjoyed “Jeeping” with friends, relishing the thrill of the open trail and the beauty of nature that came with it. Fishing was another passion that brought peace and solace to his heart, whether he was enjoying quiet moments on the water alone or surrounded by loved ones. In addition, Ray had a deep appreciation for the freedom and thrill of riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycles, which he often enjoyed on scenic rides with friends. Ray attended Holy Rosary Catholic Church, where he found spiritual strength and a close-knit community. Ray was a man who lived life to the fullest, and his zest for adventure, deep love for his family, and unshakable faith will never be forgotten.
Ray is survived by his wife, Barbara Heid; 2 children, Christina Rae Heid and NikkiLynn (Chad) Stoltenberg; 4 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Raymond (Marilyn “Robin”) Heid; 2 nephews, Raymond and Matthew Heid; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Madonna Heid and his daughter, RayeAnne Heid.
