GASSER, Nancy C. – of Albee Township, died Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at Symphony Tri-Cities Assisted Living of Bay City. She was 74 years of age.
Nancy was born in Saginaw on November 12, 1949, a daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Heine) Kulhanek. Nancy lived her entire life in Albee Twp., growing up on the Prairie Farm. She graduated from Chesaning Union High School in the class of 1967. She was united in marriage to Thomas J. Gasser on October 26, 1968.
Mrs. Gasser was employed by the Chesaning Union Public Schools as a paraprofessional and bus driver, and she also worked as the Deputy Clerk for Albee Twp. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Albee. Nancy enjoyed camping, gardening, flowers, traveling, vacationing in Florida and going to Disney World, and spending time with her family, especially the grandkids.
Surviving are her children, Tom (Sherry) Gasser of Freeport, Steve (Kari) Gasser of Spaulding, and Tina Sayan of Burt; grandchildren: Samantha Sayan of Burt, Luke Sayan of Burt, Kelly Gasser of Freeport, Amelia Gasser of Swartz Creek and Madison Gasser of Spaulding; siblings, Deb (Lyle) Mikolanz of Chesaning, Cathy Eckert of Haslett, Marie Smeaton of Albee Twp., Richard (Linda) Kulhanek of Albee Twp., and Frank (Jayne) Kulhanek of St. Joseph; many nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Tom, on December 19, 2021; three grandchildren, Anna, Beth and Johnathan; and a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Janice Kulhanek.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 18, 2024, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albee Twp. with Fr. John Cotter officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning on Wednesday from 2-7 p.m. where a Vigil Service will be held at 6 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Charitable contributions given in memory of Nancy may be made to St. Mary’s Cemetery in Albee. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
