Roe, Patricia (Patty) of Grand Blanc, age 72, passed away peacefully and was welcomed into her Heavenly home on Tuesday, March 22, 2022 while surrounded by her loving family at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Patty was born in Franklin, PA on January 1, 1950, to the late Reverend Edmand and Nathalie (Anderson) Dinant. Patty grew up with her two sisters and loved to participate in the church services by singing and playing the piano and also writing and performing in many plays and musical productions at the church.
She was a classically-trained pianist and vocalist. In addition to using her gifts at the church, she passed on her love for all things music by teaching the piano to others and singing in some professional capacities. You could always see the pride in her eyes when her children and grand children used their voices and other talents in service to the Lord.
In 1957, the family moved to Michigan where Reverend Dinant was pastor at Twin Cities Baptist Church. During this time, Patty attended Grand Blanc High School and graduated in 1967. After high school, Patty attended a computer college where she met her future husband, Grant Roe. They married on June 8, 1969 at Twin Cities Baptist Church.
During the years, Patty continued serving and loving God in many ways. She sang, played the piano, taught Sunday School, and filled any other need she could. She loved to read, cook, bake, sit in the sunshine, go to the lake, do puzzles, play games, watch her westerns (mainly Gunsmoke), and Hallmark movies. She enjoyed painting and working on crafts. Her favorite thing was to spend as much time as possible with her family.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Grant; her children: Grant W. (Sandy) Roe II of Burton, Jonathan E. (Kathy) Roe of Pelham, NH, and Patrica “Joy” Roe of Grand Blanc; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild (with another on the way); Sisters LaVonne (Richard) Tu?ord of Plano, Texas and Diane (Louie) Hall of Swartz Creek; Sue Gillett of Grand Blanc; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Edmand and Nathalie Dinant.
Services will be held at Swartz Funeral Home at 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday and at 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 26. Pastor Jonathan Roe will be o?ciating. Interment will be on Monday, 10 am at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, Michigan.
The family would like to thank all of her caregivers at Davita of Grand Blanc, as well as her physical therapist and Nurse, Judy and Tracy.
Those desiring may make contributions to New Road Baptist Church. Your condolences may be shared with the family at swartzfuneralhomeinc.com.
