CORNACK, Russell J. – of Lady Lake, FL and Durand, MI, age 93, entered into Heaven on Tuesday, March 22, 2022. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Russell’s Life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, July 16, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery, 3415 E Hill Rd, Grand Blanc, MI 48439; Pastor Russell Sommer officiating.
Russell was born in Flint, MI on January 9, 1929, son of the late Russell Leroy and Olive (Dault) Cornack. After retiring to Florida in 1999, he would still spend summers in Michigan. Russell was a lifetime member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Michigan. He was also an avid golfer and had 3 holes-in-one. Russell loved hunting, bowling, watching birds and wildlife, and enjoyed wood-working projects. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Russell is survived by his beloved wife, Martha Susan Cochran of Lady Lake, FL; 3 daughters, Susan Jo (Cornack) Pollard of Davison, MI, Anne Marie (Cornack) VanDerHorst (Tim) of Springville, CA and Michelle Hattie (Cornack) Molina of Davison, MI; son, Russell John Cornack (Lorraine) of Burton, MI; 2 stepsons, Joseph Edward Simmons (Denise) of Hollywood, FL and John Allen Simmons (Jennifer) of Tallahassee, FL; 8 grandchildren, Maria (Day) Allen (Tommy), Emily (Day) Phillips (Chad), Nicolas VanDerHorst (Nicole), Shane Pollard, Randi Cornack (Shane), Hattie Molina (Jacob), Angelo Molina and Harrison Simmons; 11 great-grandchildren, Charlie, Kaden, Ronin, Leila, Tre’stan, Leah, Ella, Nathan, Corrina, Arianna and Damien. He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Olive Cornack; sister, Nancy Keel; former spouses, Patricia (Glomson) Cornack and Dolores (Prentice) Cornack.
