Coolick, Joseph Charles “Chuck” of Swartz Creek, age 67, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, at his home in Cape Coral, Florida.
Chuck was born in Kansas City, Missouri, on February 7th, 1953 to the late Joseph John and Josephine (Dicton) Coolick. He grew up in Flushing, Michigan and attended Flushing High School. He worked at AC Spark Plug/ Delphi East/ GM in Flint for over 30 years. On April 10th, 1981 he married Mariela Ruiz who is alive and well. They were together for over 40 years. They met each other in 1978. Chuck was an immensely proud UAW leader and member. For 25 years he held positions through the Union ranging from Junior Representative, Shop Committee, and Shop Committee Chairman. His job gave him a chance to help co-workers against management to make GM a better place to work. It never mattered if a Union Brother or Sister were right or wrong Chuck would always find a way to make things right! Chuck was a big people person. Friends and Family would always fill his heart with Joy and tons of Jokes. It was almost impossible for a person to not smile around Chuck. He had a personality that resonated with everyone he knew as well as people he just met. It always seemed as is he was the Leader or King of the family because he was always the person everyone turned to when they needed advice, help, or just someone to listen. He was adored and loved by a great number of people. Chuck adored sports, especially football. The love for Michigan professional sport teams will be in his heart forever. There wasn’t a game he ever missed. His favorite things to do were Golf, Bowling, Fishing, going to the Casino, but even better than that was getting together with family and friends to just play Cards at home. There was never a dull moment with the Great Chuck Coolick around. His passing is a great loss and will be dearly missed not only by his family, but by anyone that crossed his path.
Chuck is survived by his wife Mariela Coolick, Siblings Rita Zahner (Richard), Patricia Dunn, Jo Ann Coolick, Kathleen Tomalia (Robert) and Mary Bickley (Dave). Sons Jason Coolick (Stacey), Joseph John the 2nd (Irene), and Michael Drew. Daughter Stephanie Arnold (Matt). Grandchildren, Jonah, Ethan, Logan, Sophia, Sydney, Dominic, Nathan, and Joseph John the 3rd. Great Grandchildren, Soren, Maisyn, and Raeylin.
