JACKSON, Velma E. – of Flint, age 82, passed away September 8, 2021, at her residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, September 13, 2021, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Road., Flint, MI 48506; Rev. Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Interment will be in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be 12 Noon – 2 PM and 4 PM – 7 PM Sunday, September 12, 2021, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 6 PM on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to North End Soup Kitchen.
Velma was born in Flint, MI on June 5, 1939, daughter of the late Floyd and Ruth (Baumgart) Bice. She married Robert J. Jackson on July 13, 1963, in Flint. She worked at TJ Maxx for many years. Velma enjoyed creating flower arrangements for family events and weddings. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Velma is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Kathleen (Richard) Firestone, Robert M. (Paula) Jackson and David (Karin) Jackson; 6 grandchildren; Robbie Jackson, Alex Jackson, Aidin Jackson, Susan Fisher, Katy Belson, and Andrew Wilson; 7 great-grandchildren; nephew, James (Jill) Bice. She was preceded in death by brother, Robert James Bice; sister-in-law, Kathleen Ann Moody.
