AGNEW, Robert L. – of Davison, age 82, passed away on October 9, 2023. Private Burial in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Bristolwood Community of Christ, G-1158 West Bristol Road, Flint, Evangelist Mary McClellan and Priest Cher Youngs officiating. Robert was born in Port Huron, Michigan, on September 16, 1941, son of the late Clare and Marie (Rushton) Agnew. He married Marion Clapp on June 22, 1963 in Flint, MI. Bob retired from Buick (Crankshaft #36-04) in 2000 after nearly 38 years of service. In retirement, he enjoyed several years of part-time work at Avis. Bob had a lifelong passion for cars, having built hotrods from a ’32 Ford and a ’71 Opel. A fourth-generation member of the Community of Christ, Bob served God and the Church in many capacities, including as pastor of the Bristolwood and Burt branches, leading witnessing weekends, and sharing the Gospel across Michigan in his capacity as Seventy.
Bob is survived by his wife, Marion; sons, Jeffery and Joseph; brothers-in-law Bruce Clapp and Randall (Carol) Clapp; many loving nieces, nephews and cousins; and special friends Kathleen Pearl, Virginia Cygan, and Dean and Phyllis Bagnall. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother C. William J. (Linda) Agnew; brother-in-law, Raymond (Sally) Clapp; niece, Diana Courtney, and close friend, Harvey Pearl.
