HAYES, Julia – of Burton, Michigan, age 97, passed away on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Mclaren-Flint. A Private Funeral Service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Atherton United Methodist Church.
Julia was born in Flint, MI on July 11, 1924, daughter of the late William and Anna (Dauphans) Hoffman. She married Bennie Hayes on June 24, 1943, in Joplin, Missouri and he preceded her in death on February 8, 2013. Julia was a wonderful and kind loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She was loved by so many. Julia was dedicated to her family and her church, Atherton United Methodist, where she was a member of the choir, enjoyed making pasties and was a Sunday School Teacher for 55 years. Julia enjoyed making jewelry and sharing her bracelets with friends and family.
Julia is survived by her children, Kathy (Ken) Sutton-Harshman, Vicky (Bill) Moon and Ronald Hayes; grandchildren, Randy Sutton, Rod Sutton, Rachelle (Bob) Sutton-Brulla, Jason (Amy) Moon, Ryan Moon, Zachary (Jill) Moon, Ben (Taelor) Hayes and Kasey (Bryan) Carpenter; 17 great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; many other loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, John Hoffman and Nicholas Hoffman.
The family appreciates the support given to them by all of their family and friends. The family also would like to thank the McLaren nurses for the care and kindness shown to their mother as well as Julia’s personal caregivers for their amazing care.
