THIELEN, Marilyn J. (Daoust) – of Harleysville, PA, formerly of Goodrich, MI, age, 90, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2023. A Funeral Service will be held 11AM Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Rob McPherson officiating. Interment will be in Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 6-8PM Friday, July 14, 2023, at the funeral home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Saturday.
Marilyn was born in Mt. Morris, MI on April 1, 1933, daughter of the late Lawrence and Lucille (Funch) Daoust. She married Richard Thielen on January 28, 1956, at Davison United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2005. Marilyn received her Associate’s Degree in English from Oakland University. Marilyn was an avid flower and vegetable gardener. She valued journaling her thoughts throughout her life and published a book of poems in 1996 titled “Loves Journey.”
Marilyn is survived by her loving children, Greg (Lorie) Thielen, Jeff (Jill) Thielen and Sue (Don) Savoie; grandchildren, Jacob, Kelly, Amanda, Aaron, Gabriella, Billy and Amy; great-grandchildren, Stella, Stella and Gwen; and many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Herb Daoust and Leonard Daoust.
