Lona Jean Winter, age 62, of Flint, Michigan passed away on Monday, February 14, 2022 at Hurley Medical Center.
Lona was born July 11, 1959 in Portland, Oregon to Joseph and Mildred Cooper. She married Michael Winter on July 31, 1982 in Vancouver, Washington. Lona spent her life taking care of others, both in occupation and in the home. Nothing was more important to her than her family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Michael Winter; son, Michael Winter II (Briana Hetherington); daughter, Janelle Winter; five grandchildren: Kerissa Andrews, Serena Winter, Michael Winter III, Mildred Winter, and Jarryen Winter; sisters: Georgia Brown and Retha Smith; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; Joseph and Mildred Cooper; and siblings: Wilma Radach, Richard Cooper, Tommy Cooper, Lewis Burgess, Mark Blatchley, Flora Burgess, Billy Cooper, and Sandra Burgess.
The family will greet friends from 12:00pm until 8:00pm on Saturday, February 19, 2022 and from 12:00pm until 8:00pm on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw, Grand Blanc. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, February 21 at the Chapel of Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Interment following at the above location. Pastor Joey of Vertical Life Church officiating.
