STIMSON, Joel Roger – of Davison, MI, age 88, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024 at his home. A Private Funeral Service will be held. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 3-7 PM Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carriage Town Ministries, in Joel’s memory.
Joel was born in Goodrich, MI on January 30,1936, son of the late Douglas and Alice (Caryl) Stimson. Joel was a man of great character, known for his dedication, work ethic, and love for life. He married the love of his life, Corrine “Corky” Miller, on March 22, 1958, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and memories. As a devoted family man, Joel took pride in both his work and his relationships. He was a skilled builder throughout his life, shaping not just structures but the very foundation of the community he called home. An avid golfer, Joel was a long-time member of the Goodrich Country Club, where he spent many enjoyable hours on the course with friends. Joel was also an active member of the Davison Odd Fellows and First Baptist Church of Davison, where he found both fellowship and spiritual guidance. He was a man whose quiet strength and unwavering faith touched all who knew him.
Joel is survived by his wife, Corrine “Corky” Stimson; 3 children, Cindy (Calvin) Beamer, Michelle McCarley and Robin (Tim) VanCura; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 5 siblings, Caryl (Beth) Stimson, Paul (Karen) Stimson, Beth (Mary) Schryburt, Delores (Dave) Douglas and Melvin (Karen) Stimson; sister-in-law, Sharon Stimson; many other loving family members and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Alice Stimson; son, Joel Stimson; 2 brothers, Ron Stimson and Jim Stimson.
