KRANZO, Calvin – of Clio, age 88, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 8, 2022, at Angel Manor in Clio. His unwavering faith gives us comfort, knowing he has joined his beautiful wife and is in the arms of the Lord. Funeral service will be held 11AM Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at Messiah Lutheran Church – 520 Butler St. Pastor Erik Cloeter officiating. Burial at West Vienna Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church Monday, December 12, 2022, from 11AM until 8PM and Tuesday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Messiah Lutheran Church.
Calvin was born March 5, 1934, in Hawks, Michigan, to the late Fred and Pierra (Sterns) Kranzo. He resided in Clio for most of his life. On November 13, 1954, Calvin married the love of his life and best friend, Janet Montle. Calvin began his career at Buick in 1953 and proudly retired in 1989 after 36 plus years of employment. Over the years he had many passions including Christmas trees, beagle hounds, gardening, and deer hunting. There was never a shortage of deer stories when having a conversation with Calvin and he was able to pursue his hobbies until a year before his passing. Above all, Calvin was a strong-willed man who will be deeply missed by those who knew him. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to Sadie and the staff at Angel Manor for their excellent care and professionalism during Calvin’s final days.
Calvin is forever loved by his children: Carl (Pamela) Kranzo of Flushing, Sandra (Kenneth) Brown of Cincinnati, and Mark (Sue) Kranzo of Clio; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; Brother, Leslie (Gerri) Kranzo; Sister, Kathlyn (Dale) Noffze; Devoted friend, Tonya Leduc. Calvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Janet Kranzo; Brother, William Kranzo; Sisters: Idabelle Cordes and Elva Whitehead; Grandson, Christopher Brown.
