Lanette Joy Prutznal, a beacon of love and spirit, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023, at her home in Columbiaville, Michigan. Born on May 26, 1954, in Flint, Michigan, Lanette's life was a testament to the power of kindness and the strength of family bonds.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Terry, with whom she built a life filled with laughter, support, and mutual respect. Together, they raised a family that was her pride and joy: her sons Kyle, married to Jennifer; Kevin, married to Jamie; and her late son Kurt "Johnny," whose memory remained a guiding light in her life.
Her role as a mother extended with grace and enthusiasm to her beloved grandchildren, Justin, Franklin, Morgan, Vincent, Jacob, Tyler, Miranda, and Abigail, and her adored great-grandchildren, Theo and Kelvin. Lanette's love knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with them, imparting wisdom and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Lanette's siblings, Denise (Edward) Hodgkinson, Michelle Debernardi, Kathleen (Barry) Smith, Leo (Beth) Mucha, and Andrea (Scott) Fike, will remember her as a loving and thoughtful sister. Her spirit and generosity touched all who knew her, and the bond they shared was unbreakable.
A woman of many interests, Lanette found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was an avid shopper, with a particular fondness for yard sales, where she could always find a treasure to share or a story to tell. However, her greatest passion was her family, especially her grandchildren, with whom she spent countless hours, sharing her love and nurturing their growth.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Lanette’s Life will take place 2:00 PM on Friday, December 29, 2023 at Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville, where friends and family can visit 12:00 PM till time of service. Memorial contributions in memory of Lanette may be made to Make A Wish Foundation or St Jude’s Children Hospital.
