Herbert was born February 5, 1959 in Flint the son of Frederick and Nettie (Covert) Holtslander. Surviving are his sons, Jake and Alex Holtslander; mother, Nettie Holtslander; brother, Rick Holtslander sister, Terry Holtslander, and grandchildren, Caroline, Mason and Serenity.
