CAMP, Rufus Harry, Jr. – of Flushing, MI, age 95, passed away Saturday, November 20, 2021. A Graveside Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Sunset Hills Cemetery. A Memorial Service, with Military Honors, will be held at a later date at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; The Rev. Sue Colavincenzo officiating.
Rufus was born in Alma, MI on May 6, 1926, son of the late Rufus Harry and Sarah (Baxter) Camp, Sr. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years during WW II. Rufus married Vonda Lou Gonser on May 25, 1952 and she preceded him in death on June 16, 2011. He retired from General Motors in January 1980 after 33 years of service. Rufus enjoyed fishing and farming.
Rufus is survived by 5 sons, Rufus Milan (Sheila), Roger Dale, Walter Lee (Rose), Jonathan Gregory (Berneice) and William Leon (Bonnie); 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus and Sarah Camp, Sr.; wife, Vonda Camp; siblings; daughter-in-law, Trudy.
