MCCLANAHAN, L.C. Jr. – of Birch Run, age 79, passed away August 19, 2023 at Cranberry Park in Clio, Michigan. Cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time. In memory of L.C. please do something nice for someone, even a stranger.
L.C. was born in Richlands, Virginia on August 24, 1943 to the late Luther and Billiegene (Justice) McClanahan Sr. He was a graduate of Beecher High School with the class of 1962 and the University of Michigan, Flint in 1972.
He married Yvonne McIlmurray on November 5, 1966. L.C. retired from AC Spark Plug in 1998 after 37 years of service. He was a member of Local 651 and the Conservation Club of Frankenmuth.
He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. L.C. was an avid antique collector since 1970, enjoyed car shows, and working on anything mechanical. The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Nancy, Brian, Pam and the caring staff at Cranberry Park.
L.C. is survived his wife, Yvonne; Children, Lisa (Richard) Schaller, Mark (Beth Corbat) McClanahan; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Rachel, Jamie and Annie Schaller; sisters, Bobbie (Joe) Alfaro, MarySue Young; brothers, Curtis (Joni) McClanahan, Rod (Tracy) McClanahan; Step Mother, Jane McClanahan – Green; brother in law, Ben (Marsha Jensen) Blue; sister in law, Pam McIlmurray; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Vaughn; nephew, Michael Hill; mother in law, Lucille Blue; brothers in law, Jim Young, Dale McIlmurray, and John Vaughn; great nephew, Adam White.
