CURTIS, Larry D. - Of Flint, age 69, died Thursday, August 25, 2011 at Brian's House in Davison. Funeral service will be held 11a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation 2-8p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Larry was born in Clay, Missouri on August 20, 1942. He married Sandra Kay Amon on November 20, 1995 and she preceded him in death on April 23, 2008. Larry was a member of the Swartz Creek Lodge #458 F.&A.M. and was also a member of the Grand Blanc Huntsman Club. He enjoyed boating, fishing, golfing, sport shooting and hunting. Larry retired from General Motors V8 Engine Plant.
Surviving are children, Kaye and husband Chuck Cole of Clio, Patrick and wife Kimberly of Bancroft, Heather Curtis and fiancé Norm of Vassar and the children’s mother, and Larry’s dear life friend, Kathie Curtis of Flint;
grandchildren, Collin and wife Heather J. Curtis of Swartz Creek, Justin Green of Bancroft, Kayton Szabo of Clio and Jessica Curtis of Bancroft;
sister, Rosemary and husband Bob Rokicki of FL and brother, Bobby and wife Linda of Millington;
nieces, nephews, the Amon family and a host of special friends. A special thank you to Dr. Arora and the Great Lakes Cancer Center, Dr. Khandelwal and McLaren Visiting Nurses.
