STEWARD, David Robert - age 64 of Swartz Creek, passed away August 14, 2024, at his residence surrounded by family. David was born January 13, 1960, in Pontiac, the son of Robert Francis and Katherine Ann (Smith) Steward. He married Claudette F. Nelson on August 6, 1989, and they had just celebrated their 35th anniversary. David worked in security systems management for Citizens Bank and other companies for many years. He loved spending time up north, on Mackinaw Island and in the Upper Peninsula at his family's campground. David enjoyed woodworking, his daily walks, estate sales and garage sales. He especially enjoyed spending time with his great-nephews. They learned from him that he was a stickler for an immaculate lawn. Surviving are: wife, Claudette; sisters, Christine Bellows and Karen Smeja; sisters-in-law, Christine Finks and Dolores Nelson; nieces and nephews, Jennifer, Courtney, Nathan (Julie), Ryan (Dawn), Colin, and Angelica (Chuck); great-niece and nephews, Taylen, Emily, Nick, Simon, Samuel, Theodore, and Fischer; best friend, Jeff Conner. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Katherine Steward; mother-in-law, Florence Nelson; and brother-in-law, Douglas Bellows. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank Dee and MariJo from AdvisaCare Hospice.
