SALTZMAN, Curtis Wayne – of Davison, age 67, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at the Pines of Burton after a long and difficult battle with cancer. A Funeral Service will be held 2 PM, Monday, May 14, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Patricia Jarvis officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1-2 PM until the time of the service on Monday. Cremation will take place following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice, 4458 Oakbridge Drive, Suite B, Flint, MI 48532 or any charity of your choice.
Curt was born in Flint, MI on September 12, 1950, son of the late Ernest and Nettie (King) Saltzman. He has five children with his first wife, Susan. Curt later married Mary (Williams) on May 29, 1993, and has two stepdaughters. He graduated from Mt. Morris High School in 1968. Curt had an 18 year career as a meat cutter at Farmer Pete’s in Chesaning. Later he drove a delivery truck for Tom Ryan Distributing Co. in Flint. He enjoyed playing cards, casino trips, watching his grandchildren play sports, and gardening. Curt especially liked picking his banjo for hours with his Uncle Vernon when he came to visit from Missouri.
Curt is survived by his loving wife, Mary Saltzman; children, Lisa, Debbie, Darlene, Brian and Lindsay; stepdaughters, Nichelle and Melissa; 11 grandchildren; youngest brother Larry; stepmother, Eleanor; sister-in-law, Jean; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest “Ben” and Nettie (King) Saltzman; eldest brother, Ernie and nephew, Ernest John. The family would like to thank the staff of the Pines of Burton and Kindred Hospice for the wonderful care Curt received.
