Virginia "Katie" Emmendorfer
Age 89 of New Lothrop passed away on Sunday, June 19, 2022 at St. Mary's Hospital.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, June 23, 2022 at St. Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McGeehan Funeral Homes New Lothrop Chapel on Wednesday, June 22nd from 4:00pm to 8:00pm with a Rosary prayed at 7:00pm.
Virginia was born on November 30, 1932 to Peter and Catherine (Gornekci) Bolanowski in Montrose. She married Eugene J. Emmendorfer on November 28, 1953; they celebrated 67 years of marriage and raised 8 children together.
During her life, Katie was a loving homemaker and worked as a cook. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and canning. She also enjoyed gardening. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Katie is survived by her children, Joan Emmendorfer, Linda Woodruff (Scott Mitchell), Eugene P. (Susan) Emmendorfer, Raymond (Dana) Emmendorfer, Lucille (Brett) Mutchler, Robert Emmendorfer, Kathryn Emmendorfer, and Julie (Kevin) Struck; her grandchildren, Byron, Brad, Katrina, Brianna, Erica, Bryce, Josh, and Matt; great-grandchildren, William and Isabella; many step-grandchildren; and her brother, Paul Bolanowski.
She is predeceased by her husband, Eugene Emmendorfer; her parents; her grandson, Andrew Emmendorfer; and her siblings, Stella, Helen, Alex, Frank, Henry, and Aggie.
