William was born September 30, 1933, in Clio, Michigan, to the late Joseph and Stephania (Barger) Nemeth. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, finding solace in deer hunting and fishing for northern pike, salmon, and trout. Many memorable hours were spent bonding with his family while pheasant hunting. A lifelong farmer, William found joy in tending to the land and watching his crops and garden flourish. In his later years he looked forward to each new planting season and watching his land be farmed by his neighbor, Stan Piechnik. He also enjoyed daily car trips, random destination travel, tractor shows and meeting new people along the way. His strong work ethic was evident in everything he did. Besides his farming endeavors, William was a dedicated member of the community, he actively participated in the founding of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church. He found great comfort and solace in his faith and helping others.
Family gatherings were especially dear to William’s heart. He relished the opportunity to organize and attend family picnics, and tractor rides through the woods, creating countless memories filled with love, laughter, and delicious food. William’s Hungarian heritage was celebrated annually at the local Hungarian festival, where he enjoyed reconnecting with his cultural roots and spending quality time with his loved ones. One of our favorite memories was watching our father dance the Csárdás with our mother. More than anything he was a loved husband, father, grandpa, and friend who will be greatly missed.
