KELLY, Mary Lou – of Grand Blanc, age 87, passed away January 17, 2018 at Abbey Park at Grand Blanc. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, January 22, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Thetford Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-7 PM Sunday and 10 AM until time of service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Mary Lou was born in Paris, IL on June 22, 1930, daughter of the late Dwight I. and Evelyn Jean (Case) Daniels. She married William John Kelly on July 17, 1971 and he preceded her in death on January 20, 2001. Mary Lou was a member of the Flint Banjo Club and Wheelock Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with family, reading, sewing, refinishing furniture, shopping and spending time with her monthly “club” High School friends. Mary Lou worked as a salesclerk at Jean Carol Fashions in Davison.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughters, Linda (Steve) Nesgoda and Marsha (Gregory) Schmiedeknecht; granddaughters, Kendra (Daniel) Meyer and Staci Schmiedeknecht (Clint Austin); great-grandchildren, Kara and Devin Meyer, Cody and Mitchell Schmiedeknecht, Cali Austin; sister, Suzanne Gritzinger; brother, Donald (Mary) Daniels; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Kelly, Sandra J. Goodfellow and Joanne Dickinson; several nieces, nephews, and friends.
