SHAW, Estelle M. - Of Flint, age 89, passed away on Sunday, January 22, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Deacon Dan Fairweather officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 3:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday and 12:00pm Friday until the time of service at the funeral home.
Estelle was born in Wallace, West Virginia on March 11, 1933 the daughter of the late Joseph and Martha (Hawkins) Baker. She married James N. Shaw in March of 1952 in Maryland and they celebrated 58 years of marriage until his passing in 2010. Family was most important to Estelle and she enjoyed being with them, especially the grandchildren.
Estelle is survived by her daughters, Deborah Shaw and Susan Shufelt;
sons, James (Linda) Shaw and Gary (Bonnie) Shaw;
grandchildren, Doug (Niki Fry) Hooper, Todd Hooper, Jennifer (Paul) Reamer, Sarah Shaw, Kelly (Rick) Meyer, Krista Shaw and James (Rachel) Shaw;
great-grandchildren, Kaylee (Steve) Rice, Jaden Hooper, David Shaw, Gavin Reamer, Logan Reamer, Aubrielle Reamer and Brandon and Jacob Hooper;
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James N. Shaw; parents, Joseph and Martha Baker; brothers, Joe and Harold; and sisters, Josephine, Beatrice, Marie, Sylvia, Effie and Betty.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gentiva Hospice for their care, especially Beth King and Scott Toby.
