WISE, Edna L. (Blackwood) - Of Flint, age 88, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at Maple Woods Manor.
Funeral service will be held 3pm Thursday, January 23, 2014
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Tom Mattiuzzo officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 5-9pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Edna was born in Lamar, Arkansas on July 20, 1925, the daughter of Lee and Millie Blackwood and was a resident of Flint since 1949. On December 26, 1948, she married Quinon Wise in Piggott, Arkansas while they were both residents of Gideon, Missouri. Edna was a member of Riverside Tabernacle since 1951. She was employed with General Motors and was a member of UAW Local 659, retiring in 1978.
Surviving are son, Larry Q. Wise and wife Marilyn (Lynn) of Swartz Creek;
grandson, Larry A. Wise and wife Linda of Ft. Wayne, Indiana;
granddaughter, Andrea Fowler and husband Kevin of Grand Blanc, MI;
great-granddaughters, Amber and Alana Wise of Davison and Breanna Wise of Ft. Wayne, IN;
great-grandsons, Austin Fowler of Grand Blanc and Ethan and Hunter Wise of Ft. Wayne, IN;
sister, Imarie Davis of Genesee;
brothers, Donald, Lindell and Claude Blackwood of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Quinon in 2007, sisters, Louise Barnett, Lucille Blackwood, brothers, Kenneth, Gene and Dean Edward Blackwood.
