Ed’s life was marked by his love of and devotion to his family, his steady ways, sense of humor, love of Notre Dame and his faith. His “two rosary a day” tradition was decades long, and included many other prayers as well. He was a great provider for and supporter of his family, often showing up at sporting and other events coming directly from work. He was also someone who loved to give back. Early on, one of the things that attracted Monna to him was his volunteer work with kids with cerebral palsy. For much of his life, he also volunteered in leadership positions with both church and schools. He loved word puzzles and playing cards and games with friends and family. He also loved music, which could move him to tears. Early in life he joined the school choir, attempted to master the clarinet, and eventually became a fan of buying songs on the computer, which he played for his bridge group. He was a kind and gentle man, loved by all who met him.
