DENKINS, Daniel Delbert– of Burton, age 65, passed away Tuesday, February 13, 2024 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Dan’s cousin, Josh McCutcheon will officiate. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will welcome visitors from 3-7 PM on Friday, February 16, 2024 and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Dan was born in Flint on March 17, 1958, son of the late Delbert and June (Hyatt) Denkins. He married Melody West on July 9, 1983 in Mt. Morris. After high school, Dan obtained his bachelor’s degree in engineering. He was employed with AC/AC Delco and retired with BWI. Dan very much enjoyed spending time outdoors, often fishing, hunting, and golfing. He was a family man who thoroughly enjoyed various activities with his two sons. Dan could always be found on the sidelines proudly cheering on Zach and Josh at wrestling and football events. He found more joy than he could have ever imagined when he became a grandfather to Silas, Rylie and Nellie. Family was very important to Dan and he will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
Dan is survived by his loving wife, Melody; two sons, Zach (Stephanie) and Josh; grandchildren, Silas, Rylie and Nellie; sister, Darlene Taylor; and many other loving family members and friends. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by a brother, David.
