John (Jack) Mason Donlan Jr. age 83 of Flint passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday August 23, 2022.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2022 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint, Father Anthony Strouse officiating. Visitation 9 a.m. on Friday at church until the time of the Memorial Mass.
Jack was born on April 7, 1939 in Flint, MI to John and Kathryn Donlan. He graduated from Flint St. Michaels High School in 1957. He married the love of his life, Janet Sayles in 1962.
Jack worked in the fish & seafood business for nearly 70 years, owning The Fish House by Jack Donlan in Grand Blanc from 1984-2012. Previous to the Fish House he worked alongside his father at Donlan’s Fish Company in Flint.
Jack had a great love for antique cars, Flint memorabilia, vintage postcards and Corvettes.
In keeping with Jack's wishes, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Catholic Charities or Powers Catholic High School.
Survived by wife, Janet Donlan;
daughters, Jennie (William) Milne of Goodrich,
Julie (Larry) Dotson of Swartz Creek,
Jacquelyn (Matthew) Tagge of Grand Blanc;
granddaughters, Caroline, Kaylie and Mattie Milne, Lindsey and Leslie Dotson;
sister, Mary Kay Pierce;
brothers, Tim Donlan and Patrick Donlan;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, John Sr.; mother, Kathryn;
brothers, Denny and Michael.
