CORNELL, Travis Buchanan – Of Burton, age 55, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his family.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Elder David Jacobs and Elder Jeremy Jacobs co-officiating.
Visitation 3-8pm Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be directed to the School for the Blind.
Travis was born in Elgin, Illinois on December 13, 1969, the son of the late Kenneth and Sharon Webb. On December 30, 1999, Travis married Randa Jacobs. He earned his Associates Degree at Baker College in social work. Travis played the violin and was an avid woodworker. He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church. Travis made a lot of friends at MTA. He worked at ABC Auto Repair and was the first totally blind man to work at Dell computers.
Surviving are wife, Randa;
daughters, Danielle Cornell and Taylor Cornell;
grandchildren, Leon Engelhardt, Mila Butts and Remy Butzin;
sisters, Deborah Grimmette and Pam (Dan) Ulloa and multiple half siblings;
father-in-law and mother-in-law John and Sherry Jacobs;
and grandmother-in-law, Marie Jacobs.
Travis was preceded in death by his foster father, Billy Campbell and grandfather-in-law, John L. Jacobs.
