Davidek, Robert (Bob) C., of Flint, age 95, died Sunday, May 14, 2023, at his home.
Bob was born in Flint, Michigan on March 26, 1928, the son of Stephen and Anna (Prohaska) Davidek. He graduated from Flint Northern High School in 1946 and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served from 1946-1948. When he returned home, he joined the family’s painting business. He married Marie J. Pelc at Sacred Heart Church on May 17, 1958. Bob was a dedicated husband, Dad to seven children, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He enjoyed tinkering in his paint shop, refinishing furniture, and working in his garden and flower beds.
Bob leaves behind children, Stephen and wife Doris Davidek of China, John and wife Danielle Davidek of Flushing, Maria and husband Chris Czyzio of Flushing, Robert and wife Shari Davidek of Livonia, Elizabeth and husband Christopher Smith of Cedar Springs, Emily and husband William Greene of Grand Haven, Jamie and husband Eric George of Laingsburg; 23 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Geraldine Benedict; brothers, John J. Davidek and Paul (Sally) Davidek; brothers-in-law, John (Cheryl) Pelc, Robert (Leigh) Pelc; sister-in-law, Sharon Pelc along with many nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by wife of 61 years, Marie J.; parents, Stephen and Anna; parents-in-law, Jim E. and Mary J. Pelc; daughter-in-law, Debra Davidek; brothers, William Stefan and Angelina Davidek, Edward and Georgina Davidek; sister-in-law, Lillian and Guile Maxon; brothers-in-law, Robert Benedict and James Pelc; and nephew, Scott Benedict.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Robert Catholic Church on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. Interment following at Flushing Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Rossell Funeral Home with a memorial service at 7 p.m., and 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one's choice.
