ROHRER, Gifford Doyle – of Clio, age 95, died Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. The family will receive visitors on Monday, May 21, 2018 from 4-8 PM and Tuesday from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family.
Gifford was born September 22, 1922 in North Canton, Ohio to the late Sidney and Florence (Schroyer) Rohrer. He graduated from North Canton High School with the class of 1939. Gifford served his country in the US Army from 1942 to 1946. On August 27, 1983 he married Emma Campbell in Clio, Michigan. He has resided in the Clio area since 1976. Prior to his retirement in 1981, he worked for GM at the Buick Foundry for 38 years. Gifford was a member of the American Legion Post 366, Clio Eagles Aerie #3609, Shriner’s and the Masons. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.
Surviving are: Wife, Emma; Children, Jill Rohrer, Joseph (Eleyna) Leineke, Chris (Diane) Leineke; Daughter in law, JoAnne Leineke; Grandchildren, Brian Lightle, Matthew Lightle, Jeremy Lightle, Jennifer Diebert, Melodie Leineke, TJ Leineke, Thomas Purdy, Tim Leineke.
