BIGELOW, Arthur R. – of Mt. Morris, age 89, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at Ascension Genesys in Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, February 5, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 1PM until 8PM, and on Saturday from 9:30AM until the time of service at 10:30AM. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a donation to the Clio Veterans Memorial Park.

Arthur was born on June 6, 1932, in Clio, Michigan, the youngest son of the late Clarence and Margaret (Severence) Bigelow. He married Beverly Frappier on June 21, 1952, in a military service in Baltimore, Maryland. Beverly preceded him in death on February 7, 2012, and was waiting at Heaven’s gate for his arrival, they are together again at last. Arthur was stationed in Salzburg, Austria, while serving in the Army during the Korean War. He worked at AC Spark Plug for 39.8 years. Arthur loved his church and was a true pillar in the community. He was a faithful member of Bethany United Methodist Church, the Gordon R. Bennett VFW Post #1452 of Clio, American Legion Neeley Labar Post #158 of Clio, and the Gleaners – Glen Arbor #237 of Clio. Arthur was one of the founding military men who were instrumental in constructing the Clio Veterans Memorial Park. He spent many years working with Ted LeClair, Don Nieman, Charles Bigelow, Bob Hammerburg, Bob Wilson and many others to build something they were all so proud of.

Arthur left behind those he loved deeply: Children: Diane (Henry) Shier, Faye Cabello, Gwen O’Malley, and Howard (Tonia) Bigelow; Furry friend, George – his buddy; He loved his 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; Sisters in law: Audrey Laue, and Janet Frappier; Extended family members, Steve and Brenda Cameron and family; Lifelong friends, Richard and Margie Boyd. Several nieces, nephews, other loving family members and dear friends. Arthur was also preceded in death by: Daughters: Elicia Bigelow, and Candice (Bigelow) Coote; 3 great granddaughters; Brothers: George, Charles, Myron, and Ralph Bigelow.
