ENGLE, Dianne Mary (Leemon) – of Sterling Heights, MI, age 81, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. David Engle officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Tuesday, April 2, 2024 and 10-11 AM Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home.
Dianne was born in Flint, MI on May 6, 1942, daughter of the late Ld Leemon and Alice (Haas) Smith. She was a graduate of Flint Northern High School Class of 1960. On December 15, 1995, Dianne married Ralph Engle in Flint, MI. Outside of her professional life, Dianne had a passion for exploration and adventure. She adored traveling, eagerly soaking in the sights and experiences that the world had to offer. But above all, her heart belonged to her family. Whether it was gathering around the dinner table or embarking on new adventures together, every moment spent with her loved ones was precious to her. One of Dianne's cherished traditions was her weekly Sunday phone calls to her children, where she would brighten their days with her warmth and love. She had a special knack for making each birthday celebration memorable by singing her rendition of "Happy Birthday," a tradition that will forever echo in the hearts of those she held dear. In quieter moments, Dianne found solace in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed watching television, with a particular fondness for shows like "The Young and the Restless" and "NCIS," finding joy in the narratives and characters that captured her imagination. Dianne's kindness, compassion, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched, forever remembered with love and gratitude.
Dianne is survived by her loving husband, Ralph Engle; 3 children, Tammy (Keith) Dankert, Janell (Jim) Hajdo and Mike (Belinda) Pirtle; 2 step-children, Ralph (Tiffany) Engle and Rev. David (Katie) Engle; 23 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 4 siblings, Jolene Padgett, Cindy Marshall, Nan (Sue Diaz) Leemon and Morgan Leigh; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ld (Iris) Leemon and Alice (Jerry) Smith; 3 siblings, Rod Fleck, Jerry Smith and Denise Smith and brother-in-law, B. Padgett.
