GARY BECKWITH, age 83 of Otisville, died Friday, December 31, 2020 at Cranberry Park in Clio. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. Contributions may be made to the Otisville United Methodist Church, 200 W. Main St., Otisville, MI 48463 or Cardinal Hospice, 1097 Lapeer Rd., Suite A., Oxford, MI 48371. Gary was born in Flint, MI on May 30, 1937 to Theodore and Bertha Beckwith. He resided in Otisville his entire life and in 2005 he was voted Outstanding Citizen. Gary graduated from Otisville High School, class of 1955. He married Reva Carpenter on July 27, 1957 and they shared 63 years together. He was a member of the Otisville United Methodist Church, Otisville Jaycee’s, Otisville Historical Society, and the Forest Twp. Senior Center. Gary also served on the Otisville Village Council and the Forest Twp. Board for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending his summers in East Tawas. He was a founding member of the Oakridge Lodge. Gary also had a passion for music. He is survived by his wife, Reva; children: Joe (Holly) Beckwith, Neil (Carla) Beckwith, and Amy (Mike) Harris-Beckwith; grandchildren: Jacob, Joshua, Jesse, Jason, Justin, Amanda, Meagan, Anna, and Steven; great grandchildren: Henry, Tucker, Charlotte, Lucas, Harper, and Malia; and step sister, Marie Secord. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Derek; and sister, Suzanne Stimson. |
